LEONARDO

ROBOTIC FEEDING

At Leonardo, they were looking for a solution for grinding and polishing of concrete bases. The work was done manually. The customer also had a concrete dispenser to dispenses the concrete into trays. The dispenser is controlled by the Fest controller and enables the setting of valve opening and dosing time. In Nopromat, we found a solution with the Fanuc robot. We established communication between the Fanuc robot and the Fest controller.

We made trolleys with trays, which the robot automatically takes, puts under the dispenser and returns the filled ones to the trolley. When the products on the trays are dry, the robot takes them out of the trolley again, places the tray on the storage table, and with the tool located on the 6th axis of the robot arm (4 vacuum cups), takes 4 bases, puts them in the centring position where it centres them always in the same position, takes them again, grinds and polishes them on a belt sander, puts them on the trolley, and returns the empty tray back on the trolley.
