OCEAN

ROBOTIC GRINDING AND FEEDING

Due to increased workload, difficult working conditions and lack of manpower, Ocean, a company that designs and manufactures hall chairs, school and office furniture, was looking for a solution for grinding welds on metal stands and drilling holes in metal weights.

At Nopromat, we made a cell with a Fanuc robot, which has a tool for picking up metal stands and weights mounted on the 6th axis. The tool also has an ACF kit with a motor for automatically changing of parts.

The motor is designed for grinding welds and drilling holes, and with the ACF (active contact interface) a constant grinding force is achieved on the surface of the workpiece.

The cell consists of two sets. The first set is the service cabin, and in the second set, the robot processes and manipulates weights and stands. It also houses Fanuc’s turntable, which is synchronized with the robot. The Siegmund clamping table is also mounted on the turntable, which allows for quick adjustment and locking of the elements on the table.
